Meet Brandi - Owner/Operator
Brandi was born and raised in Lakeview, Oregon, where she grew up cattle ranching on the west side of the beautiful Goose Lake Valley. Growing up in rural Oregon instilled a deep appreciation for agriculture, stewardship of the land, and the strength of close-knit communities—values that continue to guide both her personal and professional life.
Brandi's educational journey began at Western Oregon University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, followed by a Master of Science in Geoscience from Mississippi State University. For 14 years, she taught middle school science, energizing the next great minds that will change the world.
In 2019, Brandi embarked on a new career path that brought together her passion for science, agriculture, and natural resource stewardship. Since then, she has successfully written 51 funded grants, securing millions of dollars for conservation, agriculture, and community projects. She specializes in guiding projects from vision to reality—developing funding strategies, writing grants, collaboration with partners, managing budgets and contracts, and overseeing successful implementation from start to finish.
Brandi's primary client is the Lake County Umbrella Watershed Council, where she manages projects focused on watershed restoration, habitat enhancement, and natural resource conservation. She works alongside landowners, agricultural producers, agencies, and community partners to develop practical solutions that improve habitat for fish and wildlife while supporting the long-term sustainability of working lands.

Alexis- Project Assistant
Alexis McBain is a dedicated professional with a lifelong passion for ranching, agriculture, and working outdoors. Raised in Lake County, Oregon, Alexis graduated from Lakeview High School in 2022. Her agricultural journey began at the age of 14 while working on a small ranch, where she developed a deep appreciation for farming, livestock, and the agricultural way of life.
Building on that early experience, Alexis spent the next several years developing her skills and knowledge of the working lands of Lake County. Through hands-on involvement in ranching and agricultural operations, she gained valuable practical experience while continually seeking opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. Her desire to expand her expertise and take on new challenges led her to Silver Lake, where she spent two years working in larger-scale agricultural operations. This experience broadened her understanding of the industry and strengthened her commitment to agricultural stewardship and land management.
Today, Alexis resides in Lakeview and has recently joined Brandi's team at HMRS. Drawing from her diverse agricultural background, she brings a strong work ethic, practical field experience, and a passion for continuous learning. Alexis enjoys work that allows her to be outdoors and takes pride in developing new skills and embracing new challenges. In her role at HMRS, she supports project organization, grant development, and monitoring efforts, providing valuable capacity to the team while continuing to build upon her experience and pursue her professional goals.
